When running a TransferJet demonstration with two HDP-TTJ-500 boards, each with LCD screens fitted, it is sometimes necessary to position the boards with their TransferJet couplers (location J1) directly facing one another.  This situation leads to both boards LCD displays being vertically flipped with respect to one another.

One solution to this problem is to flip one of the LCD displays under software control thus restoring the same vertical orientation of each display.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Connect to the board you wish to flip using ssh over network or using the console.
  2. Enter the following command as root user to vertically flip the display:
    DISPLAY=:0 xrandr -o inverted
  3. To restore the vertical orientation back to its default enter:
    DISPLAY=:0 xrandr -o normal

The above commands will work for any display type using the fb0 graphics output e.g., LCD, HDMI.

Since V2.0.1 this feature is supported on SW1 and via the application configuration file.

Since V2.0.4 this feature is moved to SW3.
